Before knowing about famous sports people we need to know what are the principal sports in India. 

Cricket: Cricket is the most famous sport in India, it's similar to Baseball but the "Bat" it's different. The most famous player in Indian cricket is Sahin Tendulkar, he was one of the best players in the world and his team won many Olympics.

Field Hockey: The name explains it all, field hockey is like Ice hockey but in grass, Indian palyers had a lot of grass places where they practiced a lot so they were very good and won many Olimpycs gold medals, but in 1980 the field hockey became to play in astrofurt, but India didn't have so many training places with astrofurt to practice so they weren't too good. Most famous player of FIeld Hockey was Dhyan Chand, he was so good that some people started calling him Hockey Wizard because of his tricks to score.

Kabaddi: Kabaddi is a Indian original sport where two teams have to send a player to attack the other team while this is holding his breath and chanting "Kabaddi", the player has to shoot down enemy team defenders and return to his side of the field without being stopped. One of the most outstanding players today is Pardeep Narwal.
